Court Jester Restaurant

A big plus is this pub is open late. In fact, kitchen on the weekend closes after 12am, which is great if you have nowhere else to go after everything else around shuts down. The atmosphere is warm and lively, albeit noisy if you're by the bar. Unfortunately, the food was extremely disappointing and served by a clearly exhausted staff. Perhaps it was a bad night for both, but will give it another chance in the future.

The place is small and cute. They have a great beer selection, unfortunately the staff, at least the waiter that I spoke to, was not very knowledgeable about it. I don't understand why a place like that would go through the expense of having all these different beers on top if they don't take a little time to train the staff on the beer selection. I had the spinach dip as an appetizer, and the Reuben as my main course. Both were, unfortunately, disappointing. The tip was more like a cream sauce, it wasn't a lot of texture to it. It dripped off the chips they gave me. The chips were very fresh and crisp, I give them that much. The Reuben was very good meat inside, but they didn't serve it with thousand Island dressing. That can be forgiven, not everyone likes it. The cheese was good, but the biggest disappointment about the sandwich was the fact that they did not have Dijon mustard. How can you enjoy a good Reuben without Dijon mustard? Overall it's a fun place, if you don't mind the small tables. They have outdoor seating which is more comfortable. If you can snag an outdoor table, you'll probably be more comfortable. Add Dijon mustard, and train your staff to know their beer, even if they're too young to drink it, and you definitely get a four-star rating!

This place gets very crowded, very quickly. I used to come here all the time when I lived in the area, so I figured I would stop in since I was in town. They have done renovations and the restaurant looks great. The food and service is still top notch. It is a very small establishment; if you are looking for a lot of room, this is not the place for you. They have a great beer selection and different types of food, from apps to entrees and desserts. The Jester is a staple in Freehold so I recommend a visit. They also have AMI jukebox for those who love music.

Wow is all I can say for this little place. It has amazing, funky décor and the food was some of the best I have had in a long time. I ordered the Jack Daniels burger and my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Caprese Sandwich. They were both so delicious. I wish I had a bigger appetite to try everything on their menu! Their strawberry lemonade is special and the Dirty Shirley was strong and smooth with Stateside vodka.

Excellent service from Maritza . Food was delicious. Everything fresh. Turkey burger well done but still juicy. The French onion soup is so velvety. Just the right amount of cheese. The bathrooms are soooo clean . A++++. Bar feel ,but restaurant quality. 😋. The law books are real. A real read when I stop in for lunch now. .Hands on service from every one. The Granny Carmel was Delicious.

Quirky, cozy bar atmosphere only makes up so much for disappointing food. Wings were cooked well but the sauce was mediocre, BBQ sauce has an odd taste, and the cheese sauce that came with the pretzel was “yellow cheese from tub” style that is wildly inferior to anything I’ve had in a long time. Sure, come have a beer, maybe a burger, but you can do better.

Really wanted to love this place. The atmosphere is just perfect and the manager seems very nice. We were happy because we went midafternoon and they weren't busy at all. He actually let us pIck wherever we wanted to sit. Unfortunately our server was horrible. My partner got up 3 separate times to find her so she could wait on us as well as get our bill and pay for it. Eventually another waiter stepped in to help us pay so we could head out. The food was very greasy as well. For the prices they have I thought it would have been a little better quality.
